READ
Isaiah 53
Who He Was
vv1-3
Questions about Him
His origin
His appearance
Despised, not esteemed; disrespected
What He Did
vv. 4-6
Carried, bore our sin
Israel was rebellious,
they
should have suffered
This suffering was transferred to the Servant
Took on our consequences, the suffering we were supposed to endure
He took the blame
The graphic nature of crucifixion
Massive congestive heart failure - asphyxiation, separated joints
Why He Died
vv. 7-9
Willingly
So
we
could be healed (by His stripes, His wounds)
Submitted to death
So
we
could be healed
Died for our sins
So
we
could be forgiven, and healed
He took the blame
Buried, a dead, innocent man
And the
punishment
for our sin was put to death with Him
All you are to do is accept it - trust this sufficient sacrifice
CLOSE
